And with those inspirational quotes I would like to present to you my official 2012 "Wishlist" Race Schedule!

I just love this image.  It's actually the front of a Christmas card.

  1. January 21 - 2nd Annual Blue Balls and Glass Cutters 5K (all the cool kids are doing it)
  2. February 18 - Chili Bowl Classic 5K
  3. March 17 - St. Malachi 5 miler
  4. April 22 - Glass City Marathon
  5. May 6 - Rev3 Knoxville 70.3
  6. May 12 - Nordonia Hills Duathon
  7. May 20 - Cleveland Marathon 10K (Coaching TNT, not racing)
  8. June 10 - Clay's Park Sprint Tri
  9. June 17 - Towpath Ten Ten (10k or 10 miler)
  10. June 24 - Monroe Falls Sprint Tri
  11. August 5 - Greater Cleveland Triathlon (Oly Distance)
  12. August 12 - Rev3 Dells 70.3
  13. August 26 - Rev3 Maine 70.3
  14. September 9 - Rev3 Cedar Point (Sprint Tri and Volunteer)
  15. September 29 - Akron Marathon
  16. October 7 - Rev3 South Carolina (Oly Distance and Volunteer)
  17. October 14 - Nike Women's Marathon
17 races! Overwhelming, right?!?!  That's why this is just my "wishlist".  If I had a perfect injury-free season and was independently wealthy you can bet I would be at all these races.  But let's be realistic here, there is no way I am going to do all these without burning out and burning a hole in my pocket!  For the past two years Matt and I have done 11 races/season (not planned, just worked out that way).  So let's narrow this down a bit...

The races that are in bold are the ones that I will definitely do (pending no injuries, knock on wood).  The bold italics are my "A" races for the season.  That brings me down to 8 races.  For the 70.3's I will either do Knoxville or the Dells, more likely Knoxville because Dells is just two weeks before Maine.  I would love to do the Greater Cleveland Triathlon with TNT to work towards my Triple Crown, but that depends on if I do Dells as GCT falls the weekend before Dells.  And getting closer to the end of the season I will either do the Akron Marathon or Nike, but not both (they are probably equally as hilly) and Rev3 SC will be dependent on which marathon I choose.  So, this brings me to the 11 race/season mark if I do Knoxville, GCT, and one of the two marathons.

This schedule is also subject to change with the race desires of my husband....I know he is looking at doing Muncie again.  With two triathletes in the family it's alot easier to train together for the same races then to have conflicting schedules all the time.  I'm sure Matty will be happy to compromise though!

As far as goals for the season, really I have two, but would be happy if I met just one:

  • break a 6 hour 70.3 (a 1 min PR)
  • break a 4 hour marathon (a 10 min PR)
My marathon training plan officially starts in a week and a half!  I AM STOKED!!!

Glad you took the time to figure out all the races and all the dates. Now to start saving up for next year :(

Maybe I should be contacting you instead of Matt about races.

Typical convesations
Me: Wanna do XX race at XX date?
Matt: I dunno, I dont plan that far in advance, we will see

So is Glass City a lock? Early bird prices end on New Years Eve.

HA!

I won't deny those conversations either haha.

Apparently H is the organizer in our house (thought you knew this by now?).

Glass City is a lock down. Free beer glasses, I mean, come on, that is straight up pimp!

H is the organizer??? Wow. I would have never guessed that.

Awesome schedule and awesome goals. Although if you only have to drop a minute to go sub-6 in a 70.3 I am changing your goal to sub 5:50. You can do it. I know you can!

Keep me updated about Muncie. That is on my possible list for a prep race for IMMT.

And what happened to American TTT???

Love the list! Hopefully I'll see you in Knoxville and Cedar point!!

I don't care what race you do as long as you come to Maine!!!!!!!! :)

I fear both time and pocketbook limitations on my wish list of races too. I just emailed my sis to nail down a few dates tonight as I noticed Ultramax (local race directors) have discounts on several registrations through 1/15. Your list looks fantastic. Best wishes as you negotiate the list to something affordable.

@Ironman By Thirty unfortunately American TTT is the same weekend as the Cleveland Marathon. So, we had to make a decision to do the TTT or coach for Team in Training. TTT has been bumped to 2013 goals ;)

Nice list! I had about that many on mine and thought maybe I was out of my mind. Good to know I am not the only one :) Thinking about the REV3 in Knoxville also!

umm you need to add IRONMAN MONT TREMBLANT to that list :) Foundation slots still open, or at teh very least you can come volunteer!

You can even wear your Rev3 kit ;) haha! :)

Love the list!!

You just made my day. Why? Because 70.3 Maine is a race I will be at and will get to meet Team Oravec.

Yes baby 2012 is shaping up to be the Year of Epicness!

Looks like a great list!!! Can't wait to meet you at Knoxville!!

Yay... awesome race schedule! You are going to have an amazing year. And I think that sub 6 is totally in the books for the 70.3. Just remember, Knoxville is HILLY AS HELL. All of it. Plan accordingly! :)

We might come back for Glass City too!

I just found your blog! I too have a huge list of races on my wishlist. If I didn't work and inherited a lot of money maybe...but, that's not happening so I definitely have to be selective!
