Paybacks!

Somehow this has been one of the busiest weeks of the year!  I thought workouts were going to get shorter, but this week seems to be piling them on like no other.  Couple that with the regular daily routine and it makes for dirty dishes piled up in the sink, days worth of smelly laundry, a dirty unorganized house, neglected pups, and an anxiety filled Heather.

On the plus side Matt and I got our birthday presents yesterday!  Yup!  We got aero helmets!  WHEEEEE!!!!  Ironically we had both planned on getting each other the helmet as a birthday gift.  However neither of us can keep secrets so we both admitted to this on our bike ride over the weekend and decided to get them early so we can race in them at REV!

Frank looks much better in my helmet than I do!  And he is now SMOKIN' fast!  Try to get the tennis ball past him now, I dare you!

Anyways, yesterday we had a swim-bike brick.  Matt messed up his shoulder again so I was left to swim on my own after work.  I came home to find this fantastic scene in my dining room, I don't think Matt knows I took this video.  Paybacks for posting a pic of me peeing in the woods, yes I play dirty ;)

Lets play Tosh.0 and see how many things we can pick on in this video:
  1. It appears Matt's ADD is in overdrive as he is playing video games, listening to his iPod, riding his bike, and singing all at the same time.
  2. Can someone please tell Matt the aero helmet will NOT make him any faster on his trainer.
  3. If you listen closely you can hear Matt's superb singing talents! Broadway anyone?
Anything else I missed?

And back to the training front I'm pretty sure my body is D-U-N done!  The past two nights I have woken up with charlie horses in both my right and left calf.  This has not happened since HS gymnastics and I remember how fun it was back then to wake up in excruciating pain.  Last night on the trainer my patellar tendinitis flared up.  Today I am hobbling up stairs and sitting at my desk with a bag of ice on my knee.  Think I'm gonna skip out on the bike tonight and see how running feels.   Both Matt and I are super freaked out about getting injured this close to race day.  But we both said we are going to finish the race unless they take us off on stretchers.  CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let me assure you I am super freaked out too. And the sad thing is I've become extremely accident prone. I even fell down the stairs at my sister's house. Who does that anymore. Oh I do. Love the new helmets I'm trying to decide on mine. Need to soon.

@Kristin Deaton

Isn't that the truth! Why is it that when one tries so desperately to avoid getting injured you automatically become a super klutz!

... ... ... seriously, upping the ante are we? GAME ON!!!

Had I known I was being filmed I would have at least warmed up my vocals for a better impression of Reel Big Fish!

You are evil.

I hear you chuckling in the video, you are lucky that I can't hear with my new ear flaps on my helmet!

Have I ever told you how happy I am that you are blogging again???

#4: Instead of an aero helmet, he should have spent his money on a TV larger than 13" haha.

@MattyO - those ear flaps are awesome on race day at blocking the sound of the wind.

I think Frank and I totally need to get a picture now with our matching helmets :)

Don't give him any ideas on getting a larger TV. First of all this is our formal dining room! Notice no table no chairs, no food. Notice bikes, TV, Xbox, etc. He is lucky he got the 13" TV =) You can't see it in the video, but he is using my decorative pedestal from the kitchen to put his phone and water bottle on and also took a bar stool from the kitchen to set up his iPod! What is this world coming to?

This was awesome.

#5 A TV Tray with food on it and Matt would never have to leave the dining room.

That's all I got.....FOR.NOW.

I knew he has been using your decorative pedestal for a while now, said not to tell you as you would flip out.

Poor Matt, I agree, he needs AT LEAST a 50 Inch HDTV for the use of the trainer only.

This. is. AWESOME!

Nice work! All you need is a little Crocodile Hunter-esq Aussie narration: “We seem to have stumbled upon MattyO in his natural habitat. Watch as he bikes, plays video games, and sings all at the same time... while wearing an aero helmet. indoors. on the trainer."

I'm loving you and Matt more and more every day! I just showed the video to TOm and we were cracking up. You are awesome...

So glad you guys can't keep secrets either. We're horrible with it.

Don't freak out now... you are super duper ready and it's going to be a big party. Promise.

Have I told you how excited I am that you are thinking of doing Florida?!?!
